Little Artists Big Portraits

Little artists of the Fillmore Arts Center, a public art school in Washington D.C., volunteered to model for these portraits which were then exhibited at the National Children’s Medical Center. The paintings’ purpose was to bring joyful images into a space that houses difficult treatments, worried parents, and hardworking staff. Many of these paintings remain in the hospital’s permanent collection. All of the paintings were exhibited in the show “Fillmore Faces” which opened with an energetic evening of musicians and dancers from Fillmore.
